The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has appealed to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to order re-polling in around 200 booths which were allegedly rigged by Trinamool with the help of police during the sixth phase of polling in West Bengal. The Left party has also requested the commission to order re-polling in all the stations in Nandigram and Haldia which fall under the Tamluk Lok Sabha constituency.
As per a report in Ganashakti, the CPI (M) has alleged that 25 polling stations were captured in Bankura, 150 booths were rigged in Bishnupur and 20 stations were captured in Salboni.
After the Left party registered the complaints, the Election Commission has reportedly ordered the removal of Bankura Deputy Commissioner Umasankar S on Sunday night.

The EC had asserted that central forces were deployed at all the polling stations in eight constituencies — Tamluk, Kanthi, Ghatal, Jhargram, Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura and Bishnupur — which voted on Sunday. The Ganashakti report, however, pointed out that state police replaced the forces in many booths which were rigged by Trinamool since early hours of polling.
