“The money belonged to the BJP and was to be used in the elections,” Shaw told reporters in Asansol on Monday morning, as per a Hindustan Times report.
The Hindustan Times report mentioned that Chatterjee, a North 24-Parganas district resident, was mostly based in Ghosh’s constituency in Kharagpur Sadar and was always seen with him. Shaw came to Bengal from Delhi to take part in BJP’s ‘Save Bengal’ campaign. Chatterjee had served as Ghosh’s personal assistant.
