‘Why Didn’t Arun Jaitley Inform ED, CBI About Vijay Mallya’s Exit To London When He Had Prior Knowledge?’ Asks Kirti Azad

As absconding businessman Vijay Mallya on Wednesday revealed that he had informed Finance Minister Arun Jaitley before leaving for London, suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kirti Azad asked why Jaitley did not inform the government agencies like ED and CBI about Mallya’s exit plans.

In a tweet, the Darbhanga MP also asked why Jaitley did not stop Mallya from leaving the country.

Even BJP MP Subramanian Swamy had earlier claimed that Mallya was able to escape from India only because he “met someone powerful.”

Mallya could not escape from India because of a strong Look Out Notice for him at airports. He then came to Delhi and met someone who was powerful enough to change the Notice from blocking his departure to just reporting his departure. Who was that person who dilute this LON?

Mallya is fighting extradition to India on charges of fraud and money laundering amounting to around Rs 9,000 crores.
