Uttar Pradesh Police reportedly filed an FIR against Pramod Jindal, the general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Hapur unit on Wednesday, December 12. Jindal had allegedly abused Hafizpur police and threatened that he would create a ‘Bulandshahr-like incident’ in the locale.
Speaking to the Indian Express, Sanjeev Shukla, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Hapur Superintendent of Police said, “Pramod Jindal, BJP’s Hapur unit general secretary, called up Sankalp Sharma, the Hapur SP on Sunday (December 9) and used abusive language against the Hafizpur Station House Officer for refusing to set free a local party leader held on assault charge.”
Shukla added, “Jindal also threatened to mobilise around 200 to 250 people and create a Bulandshahr-like incident in the area for allegedly giving a free hand to cattle smugglers.”
According to IE, Jindal was protesting against the arrest of Bhatiana village’s BJP leader, Dushyant. Reportedly, Dushyant had had an altercation with a local villager, Krishna who filed an FIR at the Hafizpur police station.
