The recruitment notifications issued after January 14 for Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and Food Corporation of India (FCI) jobs have not mentioned the 10 per cent reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in the general category. It is noteworthy that the 10 per cent reservation for EWS in the general category came into effect on January 14 after the Constitution (103rd Amendment) Act was passed.
As per a report published in The Indian Express by Arnab Mitra, students from across the country have expressed concern after realising that the new job reservation policy hasn’t been implemented yet. “The new policy is beneficial to the poor and the disadvantaged. However, there is no attempt on the part of the government to provide relaxation in age and attempts to lakhs of job aspirants from the EWS category. This is evident from the SSC, UPSC, FCI and RRB notifications released after the EWS reservation implementation,” a Delhi-based job-seeker told The Indian Express. Social Justice Minister Tawar Chand Gehlot confirmed to the daily that the process will take time.
Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi took to Twitter and slammed the Modi government calling it a “jumla”.
Yet another jumla served by BJP:
The job ads issued after Jan 14 of the SSC,UPSC,Railway Recruitment Board&the FCI have not given relaxation in age limit,cut-offs or number of attempts to candidates of EWS category under the new reservation policy. https://t.co/tiX3aFlxDq— Priyanka Chaturvedi (@priyankac19) March 17, 2019
Several others on Twitter too express their concern.
Joke. Big joke. We are disillusioned. You only value your own dreams. Don’t include ‘Indians’ or ‘Youth’ in ur speeches ever. Never ever. #compensatoryAttempts #csatvictims #EWSJUMLA #EWS

#ewsjumla when will our demand will be fulfilled. And how many more days we have to wait. This type of protest may not give any result. We should approach supreme Court.
