On Wednesday, December 12, Union textile minister Smriti Irani retweeted a doctored video in which Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s statements on farm loan waivers were manipulated.
Irani retweet Pawan Durani’s tweet featuring the video clip. Commenting on the clip, Durani had tweeted, “That was pretty quick Rahul Gandhi, the usual mask what Congress is infamous for, has fallen again.”
The video clip has been busted for maliciously combining portions of two different press conference statements of Gandhi. However, hours after the video was busted, the tweet is still up on Irani’s verified Twitter handle.
