Lok Sabha TV anchor Jagrati Shukla’s Twitter account was suspended on November 8 after a tweet in which she called for “real bullets” instead of pellets to be used against Kashmiri civilians protesting against the Indian armed forces.

Shukla quoted Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s tweet in which he had shared images of civilians in Kashmir who had been injured by the pellets. Shockingly, She had said, “Wow, that’s so cool. (I) would have preferred real bullets instead of pellets.

This was, however, not the first time that Shukla had made such vitriolic statements.

Twitter’s action however, came only after a number of users outraged against the platform for allowing people to air such hateful views.
