After the Opposition, now actress Swara Bhasker has called out Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) minister Jayant Sinha for garlanding eight lynching convicts at his residence in Jharkhand on June 5.
Bhasker took to Twitter on Thursday and said that for a sitting minister to garland convicts is ” disgusting, shocking, horrifying and worrying.”
Dear sir, a few points,
1. To quote @RahulGandhi it is ‘disgusting’ that u garlanded lynching convicts. It is disgusting for any citizen to do that. For a sitting minister to do so is disgusting, shocking, horrifying and v v worrying for ‘rule of law’ in this country. https://t.co/bDg2ZdNqn4— Swara Bhasker (@ReallySwara) July 12, 2018
2. Whatever the technicality of bail applications etc. with fast track courts, for a minister 2 garland convicts of an inhuman heinous crime like lynching, contrary 2 seeming like ‘respecting the due process of law’, it suggests a gross & dangerous disregard 4 the law of the land https://t.co/bDg2ZdNqn4

3. Your elite education at @Harvard and @iitdaa ought to have helped u realise point no. 2 logically – when ur advisers were misguiding u, if basic human empathy & good conscience had failed u while taking this decision. https://t.co/bDg2ZdNqn4

4. Ive been in more than one ‘controversy’ of my own making, may i humbly & respectfully share : When u do something ‘unintentional’ & it blows up in ur face & people start criticising u- better to remain quiet, accept the gaffe & let it pass than defend the indefensible.🙏🏿 https://t.co/bDg2ZdNqn4
