Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru district are reportedly protesting against sitting party MP Shobha Karandlaje, claiming she has not worked for the development of her constituency and remains unreachable even to party workers.
According to The News Minute report by Prajwal Bhat, local BJP workers claim that Karandlaje, a close aide of BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa, gives larger attention to state-level affairs, neglecting the grievances of the people in her constituency.
Speaking to The News Minute, a party worker said, “We are unhappy with the lack of development in our area particularly for the OBCs and backward classes. She is unreachable for workers like me because she is heavily involved in state politics. We are answerable to the people in our area.”

The disgruntled party workers and supporters have also started a campaign on social media websites using hashtag — #ShobhaGoBack — in an attempt to convince the party leadership to field a different candidate from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency.
@AmitShah Dear Amitji. Please look into the #ShobhaGoback. This is not only message from Twitter users. This is concern of common people from Udupi Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency. Hence we request you to take serious look into it and decide the candidate accordingly.
