Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)MP Sanjay Singh on Wednesday, March 6 questioned the Supreme Court’s reasoning of refusing to hear his plea in the Rafale matter, and pointed out that the court had not taken any action against Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah for his openly contemptuous remarks against it.
On Wednesday, a Supreme Court Bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi reportedly refused to hear Sanjay Singh’s petition, citing certain “derogatory” statements allegedly made by Singh against the court.
The bench said, “We have with us some statements made by your client (Sanjay Singh) about this institution. It is very very derogatory. We are not going to hear you,” reported PTI.

Singh took to Twitter and wrote, “The Honourable Supreme Court did not take any action against BJP chief Amit Shah and other BJP leaders who openly made contemptuous remarks against it on issues relating to Sabarimala and Ayodhya. But it refused to hear me on the issue of corruption in Rafale, without specifying my crime.”

To gain political points, time and again, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief and other leaders make contemptuous remarks pertaining to the Ayodhya case that is pending before the court. Shah has been slammed for his disregard of the SC’s Sabarimala verdict. Shah had supported the right-wing outrage and violence against women’s entry to the shrine, saying the state government was “suppressing” the angst of Lord Ayyappa’s devotees.
