Police are now reportedly on the lookout for Himmat Patidar, a 36-year-old RSS worker, who allegedly killed a daily-wage worker and burnt the body’s face in order to fake his own death.
On Wednesday, 23 January at Kamed village in Ratlam, a body was found with it’s face burnt and throat slit. Police had recovered a torch from the spot and Patidar’s motorcycle was found lying around ten metres away. It was suspected that Patidar was murdered.
However, Indian Express reported that police investigation and DNA reports have revealed that the body is not Patidar’s. It was identified to be of Madan Malviya, a labourer who had worked on Patidar’s fields some time ago.
Patidar had recently taken a loan of Rs 10 lakh and an insurance policy worth Rs 20 lakh, the police say, reported IE. Police suspect that Patidar, who has not been seen since the Tuesday night, murdered Malviya in order to avoid repaying the loan.
Patida was former RSS Shivpur mandal karyawah (president) and his brother Sanjay Patidar is the district RSS music band chief.
Police had recovered a torch from the spot where the body was found and Patidar’s motorcycle was found lying around ten metres away, the ASP had said.
According to police, the deceased’s brother, Sanjay Patidar, is also associated with the RSS. He is the district RSS music band chief.
