The Bhartiya Kisan Sangh on Tuesday threatened to go on strike from July 13 if the compensation demands of Bonli farmers are not met till July 10.
The farmers are demanding payment of insurance premium and compensation for loss of crops, Dainik Bhaskar reported.
The sangh held a meeting on ‘farmers awareness’ at its headquarters on Tuesday and urged farmers from nearby villages to join the movement.
During the meeting, the farmers’ representative organisations said, “Framers are the backbone of our country. They are being exploited by the government. If the government doesn’t fulfil our demands till July 10, we will hold a meeting on July 13 at subdivision headquarters and announce farmers protest.”
