Rajasthan: BJP Candidate from Sanganer Draws Ire of Women, Party Workers Blocked from Entering Locality

Himachal Pradesh BJP

A video of women of Sanganer in Jaipur district refusing to allow the entry of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in their locality, surfaced on December 1. The women were reportedly protesting against Ashok Lahoti — the former mayor for Jaipur district — who is the BJP candidate contesting upcoming assembly elections from Sanganer.

The 40-second video doing the rounds on Twitter showed women holding sticks and preventing BJP workers from entering the locale. Even as the BJP workers try to appease the women, none of them budge.

A person, shooting the video, can be heard in the background saying, “They are not allowing the BJP workers to enter the centre. There is a lot of anger among the people.”

Reportedly, the women are upset at Lahoti’s nomination from the constituency. According to them, he did not fulfil his mayoral duties while in office.
