Congress party president Rahul Gandhi on Monday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his support for the passage of Women’s Reservation Bill in the upcoming session of the Parliament.
Gandhi shared a copy of his letter to PM Modi on his twitter handle and said, “Our PM says he’s a crusader for women’s empowerment? Time for him to rise above party politics, walk-his-talk & have the Women’s Reservation Bill passed by Parliament. The Congress offers him its unconditional support. Attached is my letter to the PM. #MahilaAakrosh”

On Monday, the women Congress leaders had taken out a rally against PM Modi. They said that the prime minister’s “commitment to women’s empowerment is limited to lip service”.
The Women’s Reservation Bill was passed by the Rajya Sabha in 2010 but has been opposed by members of the Lok Sabha.
