Several Congress leaders like P Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Captain Amarinder Singh have already expressed their disapproval on the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government’s move to abrogate Article 370 and have called it illegal.
On August 6, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi too joined in and criticised the narrative of “national integration” that the supporters of this move have been rallying behind.
National integration isn’t furthered by unilaterally tearing apart J&K, imprisoning elected representatives and violating our Constitution. This nation is made by its people, not plots of land.
This abuse of executive power has grave implications for our national security.
