Disgraced former junior minister MJ Akbar waded into the Rafale scam saga following the Supreme Court’s dismissal of petitions seeking a court-monitored probe into the irregularities in the deal on Friday, December 14.

In a tweet, Akbar tried to take a dig at the Congress asking if the party would apologise.

SC’s three-judge bench, comprising of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and KM Joseph, had noted while dismissing the petitions “we, however, make it clear that our views as above are primarily from the standpoint of the exercise of the jurisdiction under Article 32 of the Constitution which has been invoked in the present group of cases.”

Akbar had to resign from the post of Minister of State for external affairs after he was accused of sexual harassment by at least 20 women journalists. He was also accused of rape by a US-based editor.
