According to Bhushan, the CBI director’s response to the complaint was “positive”.

In their complaint, Bhushan and Shourie allege that there had been a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and debt-ridden Anil Ambani, where it was agreed that Ambani’s company would be the major offset partner of French manufacturer Dassault.

The complaint also claims that the foreign secretary had no clue about this deal between PM Modi and Ambani till two days before Modi made the public announcement.

The complaint also includes French former president Francoise Hollande’s recent statement that the Indian government had proposed Reliance Defence Ltd. and the French government had “no option” but to choose Reliance.

Bhushan also claimed that in the deal negotiated by PM Modi, it was ensured that the highest benchmark price is set per aircraft to deliver maximum benefit to Ambani.
