A day after the accident where a truck collided with a car, severely injuring the Unnao rape survivor and her lawyer, and killing two of her relatives, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra raised questions about the incident.
Priyanka took to Twitter, calling the accident “shocking”.
In a series of tweets, Priyanka Gandhi asked how far had the CBI probe in the rape case reached. She also slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party for not expelling the rape-accused party MLA, Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

She also asked why there was a lapse in the security cover provided to the Unnao rape survivor. “Without answers to these questions, can we expect justice from the BJP government?”

Gandhi voiced her suspicion in the matter. She wrote: “So a woman is allegedly raped by a BJP MLA. Her father is beaten up and dies in custody. A key witness dies mysteriously last year. Now her aunt, who was also a witness, is killed, and her lawyer is critically injured in an accident caused by a truck with blackened number plates.”
She added, “She herself lies grievously wounded in the hospital from the same accident. The accused continues as a BJP legislator, and the BJP State Government has the audacity to run a ‘Bhay-mukt Uttar Pradesh’ campaign?”
Slamming the government, she asked, “Does it have no moral duty towards its citizens anymore, or was that never on its agenda anyway?”

On Sunday, July 28, Ju a car containing the Unnao rape survivor, her family and lawyer were travelling, when it was hit by an over-speeding truck in Rae Bareli, killing two members while leaving her and the lawyer critically injured.
