Congress general secretary for eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not paying attention to farmers, his constituents and the general public.
Gandhi took a veiled dig at Modi’s foreign trips as well as the recent PR gimmick of releasing an interview with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. In the obviously scripted interview, Modi had made “hard-hitting” statements about the clothes he wears and his love of mangoes, among other things.
Addressing a rally in Fatehpur, U.P., Gandhi said, “If you see the Prime Minister today, then either he will be seen in a foreign country — in America, hugging the American President; or in Japan, China. Today, you must have seen him giving an interview to a big actor, but he is never seen among the general public.”

The Congress leader slammed the PM for not visiting villages in his own constituency. “I went to Varanasi, where I was informed that he has not visited a single village in the last five years even though it is his parliamentary constituency. He did not find the time to go to one village and ask at least one family, ‘Bhai, how are your living conditions?'” Gandhi said, reported NDTV.

ANI reported that she also lambasted the PM for being “obsessed” with her family and blaming Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and failing to recount any of the work that he has done in the last five years.

She also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “should speak to farmers, they do not ask pleasing questions like actors,” reported Times Now.
