Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after former French President Hollande said that the Indian government had proposed Reliance Defence company for Rafale deal.
Gandhi took to twitter and accused PM Modi of carrying out a ‘surgical strike’ on the Indian defence forces. He wrote:
The PM and Anil Ambani jointly carried out a One Hundred & Thirty Thousand Crore, SURGICAL STRIKE on the Indian Defence forces. Modi Ji you dishonoured the blood of our martyred soldiers. Shame on you. You betrayed India's soul. #Rafale

On Friday, Gandhi had said that PM Modi had betrayed India by ‘personally delivering a deal worth billions of dollars to a bankrupt Anil Ambani.”
Former French President François Hollande on Friday, told Mediapart that the French government had no choice but to pick Anil Ambani’s Reliance Defence Ltd. for the Rafale deal offsets, since the Indian government itself had proposed the company.
This statement completely contradicts Modi government’s hitherto claim that Dassault alone had selected Reliance and the government or defence ministry had no say in the decision.
