New Delhi: NSA Ajit Doval’s son Vivek Doval on Monday, January 21 filed a criminal defamation complaint against The Caravan for publishing an allegedly defamatory article.

The article authored by Kaushal Shroff, titled ‘The D-companies‘, details how Vivek and Shaurya Doval set up and run a hedge fund in Cayman Islands, a tax haven. The article had claimed that the hedge fund was set up days after demonetisation, whose promoters are of dubious antecedents.

Doval also sought prosecution of Shroff and Congress leader Jairam Ramesh in the case.

Following the article, Ramesh had asked the RBI to make public details of FDI inflows from Cayman Islands since demonetisation, which he claimed were to the tune of Rs 8,300 crore during 2017-18 and equalled total funds flowing into India between 2000 to 2017.
