As the temperatures rise, wells in Rajasthan’s villages have dried up and various districts stare at a severe water crisis.

Villagers have also reported various instances of water being stolen from their house in the past few months. They have now started putting locks on their drums of water because of this, a GoNews report said.

The villagers said the government water tankers–the only source of water- comes once in a week and fills one drum.

A villager told GoNews that there was a time when they used to put locks to protect silver and gold from burglars, but now they have to put locks on water drums too.

Rajasthan’s Bhilwara, Parasrampura, Agucha districts are witnessing an acute water shortage, the report said.
