Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday, January 27, said that leaders should show people only those dreams which can be fulfilled.

In a veiled attack at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gadkari said, “People like leaders who show them dreams, and when those dreams don’t come true they also punish those leaders. That’s why only show those dreams that can be fulfilled. That’s why show only those dreams that can be fulfilled. I don’t show dreams. Whatever I promise to do, I one hundred per cent fulfil them at any cost. (Sapne dikhane waale neta logon ko achhe lagte hain, par dikhaye hue sapne agar pure nahi kiye to janta unki pitayi bhi karti hai. Isliye sapne wahi dikhao jo pure ho sakein. Mai sapne dikhane waale mein se nahi hu. Mai jo bolta hu wo 100 per cent danke ki chot par pura hota hai).”

This is not the first instance in recent times when Gadkari has attacked Modi. After the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) dismal performance in the Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan last month, he attacked Amit Shah and Modi saying “leadership must own up to defeat also”.
