A picture that has surfaced on microblogging website Twitter on Thursday depicts the state of affairs in the country. This image in question shows three policemen in uniform walking along as a mob drags a man.
According to a NDTV report, the man was beaten to death by a mob on Monday in Pilakhuwa village of Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district, allegedly over rumours of cow slaughter. Another person was seriously injured. The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Qasim. The injured Samayuddin, 65, is being treated at a local hospital.
“The man who was lynched to death in UP on rumours of cow slaughter (nothing of the sort happened, just in case you were curious) being hauled away by the police and others in the most undignified manner,” journalist Samar Halarnkar said commenting on the photo.
Most horrifying photo I've seen in a while. The man who was lynched to death in UP on rumours of cow slaughter (nothing of the sort happened, just in case you were curious) being hauled away by the police and others in the most undignified manner. Every day, we sink lower https://t.co/fhm7XvW4If

In case you didn't see it, look. Refer my previous tweet, regarding the body of the lynching victim being hauled away in UP. What kind of a police force is this? What kind of people are we? pic.twitter.com/Wn6ZfUcSop

Journalist Neelesh Mishra underlined that “punitive and exemplary action” should be taken against the policemen.
Dear @dgpup Sir I don’t want to go into the allegations as I don’t have all details but at least three policemen in uniform and the man being dragged like a dead animal? This calls for punitive and exemplary action. @Uppolice @upcoprahul @CMOfficeUP https://t.co/RCFu8Gb8Tr
