In a shocking disdain for law and order, Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV), the right-wing youth brigade in Uttar Pradesh has reportedly announced a reward of Rs one crore for anyone beheading Punjab minister and Congress leader, Navjot Singh Sidhu.
TOI reported that Tarun Singh, HVY’s Agra unit president threatened to “chop Sidhu into pieces” if he were to visit Agra. “Either Sidhu should go to Pakistan or we will not let him live in India.”
HVY and Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh ‘activists’, reportedly also burnt effigies of the cricketer-turned-politician on December 4.
Addressing a pre-election rally in Rajasthan, Sidhu had, reportedly, derided Adityanath, and called him a bhogi —someone who enjoys worldly pleasures. This ‘angered’ the devoted followers of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. Hindu Yuva Vahini is a youth militia founded by Adityanath in 2002. It is headquartered at his home turf, Gorakhpur.
