Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala on Tuesday compared the Narendra Modi government with the British Raj.
Surjewala told ANI, “British govt then used to exploit the farmers and today Modi govt is firing tear gas shells at farmers.”

On Mahatma Gandhi’s 149th birth anniversary, the police used teargas and water cannons against thousands of protesting farmers to stop them from enter the national capital.
“Why have we been stopped here (at UP-Delhi border)? The rally was proceeding in a disciplined manner. If we don’t tell our government about our problems then whom do we tell? Do we go to Pakistan or Bangladesh?” Naresh Tikait, Bharatiya Kisan Union president, told ANI.
