A Mumbai Sessions Court on Friday rejected the plea filed by actor Alok Nath’s wife seeking an injunction order against Vinta Nanda, who had accused Alok Nath of rape and sexual harassment during India’s #MeToo campaign.
The plea sought that Nanda be refrained from speaking to media or making any public statements on Alok Nath, reported NDTV.
Earlier this month, Nanda accused Nath of harassing and raping her almost two decades ago, while she was producing TV series Tara with Nath as the lead actor.

Sharing her story in a Facebook post, Nanda had said “He was an alcoholic, shameless and obnoxious but he was also the television star of that decade, so not only was he forgiven for all his bad behaviour but many of the guys would egg him on to be his worst.”
After her account, actors Sandhya Mridul and Deepika Amin and another unnamed woman also levelled sexual harassment allegations against Nath.
Recently, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had served a showcause notice to Nath.
