A massive racket involving the mass-production of fake mark sheets and degrees in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut was reportedly brought down by the city’s Special Task Force (STF). The gang used to forge mark sheets for candidates appearing for competitive examinations like BBA, BCA, LLB, BEd and MEd.

Five forged marks sheets were accessed by police on January 14 after it which it became clear to them that despite the STF catching a significant gang in July, the education mafia was still active in the city.
Based on what the STF discovered, forged documents were being sold not only to students in Meerut but other parts of Uttar Pradesh and other states like Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab too. According to a report in Amar Ujala, students who have high chances of failing an examination or no longer wish to study get certificates by spending Rs 10,000-Rs 20,000 from the education mafia.
