Madhya Pradesh: Shame: Police And CRPF Officers Involved In Mandsaur Firing Get Clean Chit

Bhopal: The police and CRPF jawans who shot five farmers in Mandsaur last June were given a clean chit by the Justice JK Jain Commission, NDTV reported.

The nine-month delayed report said that it was “absolutely necessary” and “justified” to fire at the mob given the circumstances.

The Commission said that the police and district administration were aggravated due to the lack of an information system and lack of mutual co-operation.

The Commission submitted the report to the chief secretary on June 11 in a closed envelope.

Key highlights of the JK Jain Committee Report:

1) Two farmers were killed by CRPF bullets.

2) Three farmers were killed and three injured by police bullets.

3) The report said that shooting of CRPF and police is neither fair nor unfair, nor a step taken in the spirit of rage.

4) Only after receiving permission of the magistrate, police first tried lathi charge and then the police in charge ordered to fire.

5) At the time of firing, there was no farmer leader present at Parshavnath Fate, and the movement was in control of anti-social elements, the report said.
