The villagers in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district have said that they will not vote for anyone in the upcoming elections as no one was interested in their problems.
The M.P residents have been washing clothes and dishes with water from one gutter for the past few months. The water is now green in colour but they don’t have any other option, they told a GoNews reporter.
The villager said that they have to walk up to 1 km to get water to drink and take a bath. Some of them don’t even take a bath for three-four days sometimes.
Their problem increased due to the severe water shortage in the state. The village has a hand pump for drinking water but there is very less water in it, the locals complained.
One villager noted, “There are six to seven hand pumps in this village where 965 people live. Only two of these hand pumps are functional said a villager.”
“One hand pump gives 15 litres of water in 24 hours,” he said.
The villagers have appealed to the government for help. “This is only a basic right we are demanding. This is not that big,” said a distraught villager.
