The Congress party alleged that the announcement of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly election results was delayed at the behest of some bureaucrats considered close to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan as the counting continued till wee hours on Wednesday, December 12.
The Congress party leaders complained that the returning officers were not issuing certificates to five of its winning candidates, according to reports. Sources confirmed News Central24x7 that the results are being delayed by the Election Commission under pressure from senior bureaucrats.

According to the latest trends, the Congress party is winning 113 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party is winning 109 seats. The independent candidates have reportedly extended their support to the Congress party.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has refused to meet Congress party leaders, who sent her a letter staking claim to form the government in the state under the leadership of Kamalnath.
