India Today Axis Exit poll results, released on May 20, have predicted that the Congress party will win Chennai Central seat. This prediction raises doubts over this entire exit poll exercise as the grand old party is not even contesting the seat.
The error was visible on Axis My India website. It was ‘fixed’ after several people on Twitter pointed it out.

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader Dayanidhi Maran is the alliance candidate against Paattali Makkal Katchi’s Sam Paul in Chennai Central. The constituency voted during the second phase on April 18.
Several other errors related to the exit polls conducted by different channels and pollsters have been noticed. For instance, Times Now predicted that Aam Admi Party (AAP) will get 2.9 per cent of the vote share in Uttarakhand despite the fact that no candidate was fielded by the Arvind Kejriwal-led party in the state.
India Today Axis Exit poll has predicted that the Narendra Modi-led government will get 339-365 seats in the final tally. In Tamil Nadu, the pollsters gave 34-38 seats to the Congress-DMK alliance.
