How Much Has Modi Interacted With the Media in Last 5 Years? RTI Response Reveals Even PMO Doesn’t Know

The Prime Minister’s Office has maintained no records of the media interactions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an RTI filed by Anil Galgali revealed.

According to an IANS report, the PMO said in its reply that it does not have the details of Modi’s media interactions, live interviews and press conferences for over four years. Galgali had filed the RTI application seeking replies on December 8, 2018.

Galgali also alleged that the PMO didn’t answer his other queries like how many media representatives or media houses had requested for interviews or meetings with Modi and details of those who were permitted to conduct live or recorded interviews.

Galgali told IANS, “On January 7, a PMO Under Secretary Pravin Kumar gave a reply, promising to reply soon. But, for 68 days there was no response, so I filed the first appeal under RTI.”

Kumar then replied saying that Modi’s correspondence with press representatives were both “structured” and “unstructured” due to which the records were not maintained, Galgali said. “Even the information made available after the first appeal appears to be misleading and partial,” he added.
