Two muslim men and a woman were reportedly thrashed by a Hindu mob, over suspicion of carrying beef in Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday May 24. The incident happened just a day after the Modi-led BJP government swept to a thumping victory at the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
In a viral video, the attackers, ‘self proclaimed cow-vigilantes’ hurl obscene slurs at on of the victims. The latter sits on the street, repeatedly being beaten with a stick, while he pleads the assailants to stop.
The mob then forces the Muslim man to slap his wife with a chappal, while forcing him to say, “Jai Shri Ram”.
When the man does what the mob asks of him, for at least four times, a man off camera proclaims “You are a Hindu!”

India Today reported that the police has registered a case and one person has been arrested.
NewsCentral24x7 tried contacting SP Vivek Raj Singh, Addl SP JP Khandel and Sub Divisional Officer (Police) Seoni, SN Pathak. However, our calls went unanswered.

After the 2019 election results were in, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had even spoken of inclusiveness by tweeting: “Together we grow. Together we prosper. Together we will build a strong and inclusive India. India wins yet again!”

However, from this latest atrocity, it is evident which India is winning and the limitations of the “inclusive India” tag.
