The Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leaders refused to induct a Dalit youth in the party in Chandkheda, Ahmedabad on Tuesday, February 12. The leaders reportedly beat up the youth and his brother after they had an argument over the issue.
According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, BJYM mahamantri Kamlesh Goswami, Vinod Vyas and Manoj Babbar where against inducting Gaurang Asodia in the party. “I’m the party’s mahamantri. I have contacts with important people. Do whatever you want to do,” Vyas said, warning the two Dalit men, as per the police. The police also claimed that the BJYM leaders thrashed the two men after which they were admitted in a hospital. They also noted that Vyas was also carrying a knife-like object.
Both the sides have filed an FIR and the police are currently investigating the case.
