Karan Sant, a 45-year-old farmer from Kolhapur who had participated in the farmers march in New Delhi, died on Saturday, December 1. Reportedly, Sant fell off from the third floor of Ambedkar Bhavan in Paharganj.
ANI reported that Central Delhi’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Sharma said an “investigation was underway”. Loksatta reported that it was yet to be understood as to how Sant fell off from the third floor.

Earlier, on November 29-30, farmers from across the country under the umbrella of Kisan Mukti Morcha had gathered in New Delhi demanding a special Parliament session. The farmers demanded the passing of two bills — fixing minimum support price for their produce and a one-time unconditional waiver of their debts.
