EVMs Malfunction In Different Parts Of Karnataka

Polling for Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018 has begun in the state. The voting will go on until 6 PM. The Congress has asked voters to raise an alarm if anyone faces issues with the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Some EVM malfunctioning has been reported from Udupi, Shivajinagar and a few other areas. In Hebbal, Bangalore, Bharatiya Janata Party workers disrupted voting fighting to vote first. Updates:

1) EVM malfunction in many places in Chincholi taluk, Kalaburagi district was reported. Polling was stopped; officers concerned tending to the problem, Deccan Herald reported.

2) Voting was delayed in at least three polling stations in Hubballi city due to technical problems in EVM and VVPAT machines. BHEL and election officials fixed them. Voting started at the majority of booths at sharp 7:00 AM.

3) Faulty EVMs delayed polling by two hours at Janvarkatte in Kundapur constituency in Udupi District.

4) EVM not working at polling booth number 109 in RC College near High Grounds in Shivajinagar constituency; many senior citizens waiting at the booth since 7 AM to cast their vote.

5) Voting delayed by 30 minutes at Kollegal polling centre Number 120 due to technical issues in EVM.

6) Faulty EVM at polling station number 29 in Belagavi south delayed polling by an hour.

7) Delays due to faulty EVMs reported at Uppinangady’s First Ward in Dakshina Kannada district. The polling commenced half an hour late at Mundaje’s Third Ward in the Dakshina Kannada district.

8) In Bengaluru South, EVM malfunction at Pulkeshinagar’s booth number 108 has stalled voting

9) EVM malfunction reported in Hoskote’s booth number 151.

10) BJP workers stop people from voting in Hebbal; want their candidate to vote first.

11) Angry voters return without casting their vote.
