In the fourth phase of polling, several voters on Monday have claimed they could remove the “indelible” ink, which is used by the Election Commission officials to mark the fingers of those who have voted, by using nail polish remover. Even in the first three phases, many individuals complained that they could remove the ink within a few hours after casting the vote.

S C A N D A L O U S!!!
My ink has vanished into the blue within an hour of voting with just a slight application of a nail polish remover. After a friend sent a photo saying her voting ink got easily removed, I am sending mine as proof.

During the first phase of polling, The Quint CEO Ritu Kapur also claimed that the ink vanished after she used nail polish remover.
I voted. I got inked. I did not believe the people who said that indelible ink is washing off. So I tried nail polish remover – and magic – the mark is gone @SpokespersonECI. What’s ECI’s response? pic.twitter.com/S12TKw8M07
