Renowned cartoonist Satish Acharya submitted his resignation last week after his editor at Mail Today chose to publish a photo instead of his cartoon on China. Today, Acharya shared some more of his cartoons that were rejected by the same editor.
Acharya took to Twitter and said, “Some more cartoons rejected by the same editor. They somehow reached readers through social media. (For bhakts who are spreading lies about plagiarism angle).”

According to Acharya, his ‘anti-government’ cartoons were rejected several times by the news organisation, citing reasons like, “editor is not comfortable with Muslim angle in the cartoon” or “editor didn’t like the demonetisation link with 100% electrification” or “the editor is not too happy with the cartoon with cow”.
Once, the editor asked Acharya to “replace Modi’s character with any general BJP character.”
Recently, senior journalist Punya Prasun Bajpai, who ‘resigned’ from Hindi news channel ABP after airing a report exposing the lies of PM Modi’s claims, also said that he was asked to not mention the Prime Minister or even use his picture in Bajpai’s popular prime time show Masterstroke.
There are reports that a 200-member team has been formed by the government to monitor media outlets, in order to control what is being said about the BJP government, especially PM Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.
