BJP MP Parvesh Verma answered ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ when confronted by his constituents about what work he has done in last five years as the MP from West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
In a video shared by Newsd Hindi, Verma is asked by his constituents about the work he has done in the last five years.
Instead of answering directly, the BJP candidate tells the audience to read up a leaflet distributed at the political rally.The audience member calls out the evasion and emphasises that he needs to hear the answer from Verma.
With nowhere to hide, Verma says, “I’ll answer…I’ll tell..but not like this.. here…is there anyone else..okay now raise your hands and say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai!’”

After being successful in diverting the issue, he then employs a bizarre defence mechanism by calling into question the allegiance of the confused audience.
Verma asks people in an accusatory tone , “You have a problem with saying ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’? Say it with me.”
BJP MP Kirron Kher and her actor husband Anupam Kher had pulled the same gimmick during a recent roadshow in Chandigarh. It appears that ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ will soon replace any real accountability of political representatives.
Parvesh Verma is contesting against the Congress’ Mahabal Mishra and AAP’s Balbir Jakhar. West Delhi goes to the polls on 12 May.
