In the wake of the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama that killed 40 CRPF jawans on Thursday, February 14, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has urged people to not spread fake news.
Baghel took to Twitter on Friday and wrote that spreading fake news will harm India, not Pakistan.
“I request everyone not to spread fake news of any kind. Your photoshop won’t divide Pakistan into two but will engulf India in the fires of hatred,” he wrote.

He also called for unity and calm. “This is a time to be calm, peaceful and united. I have complete faith in the efforts of the Indian defence forces,” he said.
Following the Pulwama terror attack, a number of photoshopped images and videos accompanied with false narratives were spread on social media. In one such edited video, Priyanka Gandhi is shown to be laughing during a press conference after the Pulwama tragedy. Similarly, another photoshopped picture shows Pulwama suicide bomber standing with Rahul Gandhi. Both false claims have now been exposed by AltNews.
