Bhartiya Janta Party’s (BJP’s) national secretary H. Raja made a fool of himself on the internet when he claimed that rupee dipped as low as Rs.74 against one US dollar, during the regime of ex-prime minister Manmohan Singh.
Raja replied to Sitaram Yechury’s tweet on Wednesday claiming that rupee was in a much worse position at the time of Congress rule.
Mr. Yechury don't forget the rupee touched all time low of ₹74 when https://t.co/bmIAbcRnPU Singh was PM. https://t.co/aREvWrH1PH

The claim made by BJP’s secretary is an absolute lie.
The rupee collapsed to a lifetime low of 69.10 against the US dollar by plunging 49 paise in early trade on Thursday, under the BJP government.
Till date, rupee has never even crossed the 70 mark against US dollar, forget alone reaching 74.

It seems BJP leaders find it convenient to feed the public with lies rather than taking responsibility. On somedays, BJP members are retweeting fake news reports and on others, they are the source of fake news!
Perhaps Raja has fallen so deep into his party’s propaganda of deceiving public with fabricated news, that he has lost the ability to distinguish between what’s fact and what’s fake.
