In order to avoid embarrassment, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked its members to shoot a video and send it two days ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s weekly interaction programme with the party workers, in case they want to ask him any question.
The BJP is taking the step after Modi was left red-faced on Sunday when a worker asked him about the Centre’s policy of imposing more tax on the middle class adding to the burden on the middle-class section, The Times of India reported. The question was asked during ‘My booth is a strong booth’ programme, which is held every Sunday. The saffron party claims that Modi connects with the party workers on the ground in various parts of India through the programme.
It is important to note that Modi has not conducted a single press conference even after four years since assuming power. The move to filter party wormer’s questions further highlights the lack of transparency by the Modi government.
