The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was the biggest brand advertiser on television for the week ended on November 16, as per the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India.
The BJP had around 22,099 insertions on TV in the one-week time, from November 10 to November 16. This is nearly twice as much as Netflix’s insertions—12,951—which is the second-placed brand in the list. The Congress party did not feature among the top-10 brands in the list.
Ashish Bhasin, South Asia Dentsu Aegis Network’s (DAN) chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said, “The election season has just begun. The real jump will come around general elections. During state election time, there are localised campaigns.”
Twitter, meanwhile, questioned how the party was able to spend so much money. Some lamented India’s economic woes that seem to have no effect on the party’s prospects while others suggested a link between bank frauds, Rafale scam and the party’s income.
BJP spends more on advertising then India’s largest fmcg company
How they are getting this crazy amount of money ?
Why is that BJP’s income grew by 85% since 2014, but India’s GDP can’t even touch 8% per year ?

One user questioned if BJP’s advertisement spending was the reason behind mainstream news channels not giving coverage to issues like EVM tampering, Judge Loya’s murder, BJP Union Minister being accused of bribery and Rafale scam.
Which TV channel would want to show Prajapati case, Rafale scam, Haribhai bribery, Tampered EVMs, Loya murder etc & offend this big media spender? BJP has ensured you don’t get the real news by pocketing the media with YOUR hard earned money. Go figure. pic.twitter.com/fKbOHfA066
