Following the Pulwama terrorist attack on Thursday, February 14, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had drawn flak for continuing its election rallies even after the news of the attack had come in.
On the morning of Friday, February 15, the party had announced that it has cancelled all political programmes scheduled for that day. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to give speeches about his government’s so-called achievements, less than 24 hours after the national tragedy.
Not only did the PM attended the inauguration of Vande Bharat Express, he also addressed a public rally in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.

Several social media users observed the inappropriateness of the Prime Minister’s political speech delivered under the garb of attending “government programmes.”
Why I do not have any respect for Modi is evident in this video. Its a Govt function as announced and what he does is an party rally https://t.co/Dw5EU8EOvY

One senior journalist pointed out that BJP members were waving party flags in Jhansi when the country was mourning those killed in Pulwama.
