In what appears to be a serious violation of the precise directions of the Election Commission of India to not exploit in election campaigning, imagery related to armed forces, campaign cards containing ‘surgical strike’ imagery have allegedly been recovered from a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Mumbai.
A Congress party core team member shared a video on Twitter, which shows a card bearing pictures of Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders, and a ‘surgical strikes’ related image inside.

Upon being opened, the card plays a message, in Modi’s voice, appealing people to vote for the BJP and Modi.
On Wednesday, the Election Commission took cognisance of Modi’s remarks asking first-time voters to dedicate their vote to those who carried out the air strike in Balakot, and sought a report from poll officials in Maharashtra.
