Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former minister in the Raman Singh-led government in Chhattisgarh, Bhaiyalal Rajwade has admitted that if the party had not been involved in corruption, they would have formed the government again after the state assembly polls in 2018.
Per a report by Anurag Dwari in NDTV, the former labour minister, using the word ‘commissionkori’, said that for even the cycles distributed by his department, kick-backs had been paid.

Speaking at an event in Katghora, Rajwade told his party workers in Korba that corruption was rampant in the schemes implemented in his department at the time.
He reportedly added people who were supposed to receive the free cycles and sewing machines did not get them because of middle men.
Rajwade also said that instead of distributing freebies like cycles and sewing machines, if the money was spent on waiving farmers’ loans and subsidising their electricity bills, then BJP would still be in power in the state, reported NDTV.
