Durgesh Sharan, an Indian Railways engineer, was allegedly kidnapped and forced to marry a woman, at gunpoint on Saturday in Vaishali district, Bihar.
Sharan claimed that a few men came in an SUV and kidnapped him and his friend Saurabh, while they were on their way to home from work in the evening, reported India Today.
The men then forcibly married the 30-year-old engineer to 23-year-old Priyanka Kumari.
Sharan’s friend Saurabh, informed the police about the incident, after which raids were conducted in the area.
Later, the police found Sharan and Priyanka in a house in Raghopur area.
Priyanka’s family alleged that she had known Sharan for the past one year but Sharan, after demanding dowry, had refused to marry her at the last moment.
Sharan and his family have now lodged an FIR against Priyanka’s family and the unidentified men who kidnapped him.
