Patna: Two sons of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member and ex-chairman of Bihar Legislative Council Awadesh Narayan Singh are charged for assaulting and illegally confining an air hostess of a private airline in their father’s official residence. Narayan Singh, however, asserted that his sons are innocent.
The sons have been untraceable say police, and Narayan Singh also claims he doesn’t know about their whereabout, a TimesNow report said.
The 24-year-old air-hostess has alleged that she was forcibly confined by the duo Prashant Ranjan and Sushant Ranjan in the official bungalow of Narayan Singh and they physically assaulted her. She somehow managed to escape with the help of the domestic worker and filed an FIR on Saturday, The New Indian Express report cited.
Narayan Singh went on to defend his sons saying, “Nothing of this sort ever happened. I am shocked to know that the girl has lodged an FIR. She had perhaps studied with one of my sons in a local school.”
She told a local news outlet that she came to know about Prashant and Sushant a few months ago through a common friend. “After we got friendly, both the brothers tried various ways to get close to me. At one point, each of them even asked me not to talk with the other. I visited their residence only when Sushant cried over the phone and urged me to come,” The New Indian Express quoted her as saying.
Police familiar with the case said, “There (when she reached the house on May 16), when she was talking with him, the other brother reached and there ensued a verbal fight, followed by the two men allegedly assaulting her with the intention of outraging her modesty and also trying to kill her.”
The Mumbai-based air hostess was in Patna for the past few days as she had come to visit her mother who was unwell.
