Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha member Priya Jaral on Saturday, accused senior party leaders of demanding sexual favours from women members in exchange of promotions.
Jaral told local media reporters, “There is this dalal (pimp) Balveer whom all of you are familiar with. He gave me the offer. He said that there is Jitender Singh and another leader. You make a settlement with one of them.”

Jaral also claimed that she tried complaining about this incident several times but was shunned. Once, she was told that this is a ‘choti-moti baat’ (not a big deal).
“I only want women to be respected in Jammu and Kashmir and these senior leaders who think that women are their property..they should leave,” Jaral added.
She alleged that women who comply with the senior leaders’ demands, move up the party ladder.
The Narendra Modi government at the centre gave the slogan “Beti Bachao”, but the party’s own record on women’s safety is a dark one. Of all political parties in India, the BJP has the highest number of MPs and MLAs who are accused of committing crimes against women. Earlier this year, J&K BJP MLAs had rallied in support of the men accused of raping and murdering an 8-year-old girl in Kathua.
